We all know that in the bible that it tells us that when Jesus was resurrected from the dead that he walked among the people. He is also quoted in the bible of talking about those who truly believe in him would heal the sick and speak of tongue. However, the most startling thing of all is when he tells the people to pick up serpents and drink of all deadly things.
I am sure, not only as a child, but as an adult you and all of us have wonder why would Jesus tell the people to pick up serpents and drink of all deadly things. You may of even asked your preacher, before he threw you out of the church, this same question and then was afraid to even think it ever again in your Christian life.
Yet, we know that he who seek shall find. The problem is do we really want to know why Jesus said for us to do this. Why was Jesus, a Savior, a good Samaritan, a Holy man, to some a Messiah, say that you should pick up serpents and drink of all deadly things. Jesus the chosen one, the begotten son of God, why would he tell you to pick up serpents that could strike and kill you?
If you are lucky enough to be serpent friendly or a snake handler and the serpent did not bite you, he then said that alone did not prove you worthy. If the serpent did not kill you, then you must drink all deadly things, not just one or two. It does not matter if you considered yourself a devoted Christian or not, anyone with any common sense knows that when they read this in the bible, it does not make any sense.
This verse alone maybe the reason why there are so many atheists in the world. However the real question is are there any Christians in the world, if to prove your love for Christ, you must pick up the serpent and drink all deadly things. I have yet to hear of anyone who was able to do this and live to tell about it. So why does the bible say that Jesus told the people to pick up the serpent and drink of all deadly things.
Or did Jesus say that? Anyone with common sense who have read the bible knows that Jesus who was God’s begotten son and he spread the good gospel around and told people to follow the Ten Commandments, could had never told anyone such a thing. So does this mean that the bible was wrong, no, of course not.
For us to know who really spoke these words and why, we must go back to the crucifixion. When Jesus was crucified, he told the people that he would return in three days. His death occurred on a Friday and he was removed before the beginning of the Sabbath and was placed in a tomb cave. His mother went to prepare his body on Sunday in preparation for his return on Monday. When she got there just as the bible says, she saw no Jesus, in stead she found two complete total strangers standing in the tomb.
These strangers told her that Jesus just woke up a day early and left the tomb, even though Jesus said he would not return until the third day. These two strangers said that Jesus woke up and walked away, yet the bible tell us that Jesus (who body allegedly according to strangers got up and walked away) was never seen again. The bible tell us that another stranger appeared and this stranger told the people that he was Jesus Christ.
This stranger who looked nothing like Jesus, who did not talk like Jesus, went among the people telling them that he was Jesus. This same stranger according to the bible also told the people that they should pick up the serpent and drink of all deadly things. This stranger was no Jesus, and anyone who followed this stranger quickly found themselves dead from a snake bite or from some other deadly poison.
In my book Jesus Is No Excuse, explains that Jesus was a Savior and should not be used as an Excuse of forgiveness for your sins. The book explains that it was Satan who sent his demons to steal the body of Jesus before he could rise on the third day. Satan, himself, went among the people as a stranger trying to trick them into killing themselves by fooling them that he was Jesus and telling them to pick up the serpent and drink all deadly things.
Many Christians do not want to believe this, they would rather believe that Jesus was evil or crazy enough to tell people to kill themselves with a serpent or poison. They would rather make Jesus be seen as a mad man telling people to kill themselves, than to admit that it was Satan, who tried to fool the people that he was Jesus(not looking anything like Jesus)and have them kill themselves by the serpent or deadly things.
Why, you may ask, would people teach you that Jesus instead of Satan did this. Simply because just as it is explained in my book, that if the stranger who said that he was Jesus, was not Jesus, then it proves that Jesus never came back from the dead. Which means that people cannot lie and use Jesus as an Excuse for their sins by saying that he died for their sins, so if you are a Christian, you can commit sin and get away with it?
Jesus did not condone sin and according to the bible Jesus said that in order to see Heaven, you must obey the Ten Commandments, not disobey them and expect forgiveness. Jesus is no excuse for your sins. Once you realize this, then you can easily understand that it was Satan, not Jesus, who told the people to pick up the serpent and drink of all deadly things.
If you do not believe this, than I say unto you prove it otherwise, by doing what you think Jesus said and pick up the serpent and drink of all deadly thing. If you really believe that Jesus said this and you consider yourself a devout Christian than why don’t you do what he said. Just be sure to write out your will before you try it.
No Jesus would never want anyone to harm themselves and definitely would never tell anyone to pick up a serpent, let alone drink Drano or anti-freeze. Only Satan wants to destroy God’s people. This is why you do not see anyone who consider themselves a Christian following this verse and hopefully no one ever will.
GOD BLESS
